I think its more human exceptionalism than anything else. The galaxy has been more or less stagnant for 2k years. Sure new species are found but not much changes. Most species are good at one thing while humans can compete across the board. May not be the best but the 2nd best at nearly everything. So their influence would be disproportionately large. And this would explain why the other races see humanity as a bully or intimidating. We come on scene and are already near peers in tech and military might. Political capital follows shortly after that.

@drowdreamer I really enjoyed Inquisition. And no, you can go into it without having played the others. I did without playing Dragon Age 2 and it had been forever since I played Orgins. I think the game holds up well on its own.
