@estherk_k Totally agree...I'm an entire 26 years old and still don't understand the hype - between alcohol literally tasting like crap, costing an arm and a leg and having proven negative effects on the body and mind, I just don't get WHY
@VusiThembekwayo Because a central bank digital currency doesn't solve the existing problem which is that governments can print trillions at the push of a button whenever it's politically expedient and inflate away people's wealth. Bitcoin solves that problem. They need sell this idea though
@VusiThembekwayo True but digital currencies are still centrally controlled. The idea that the bitcoin community needs to sell to the mainstream and quickly is that a decentralised currency that has a cap on how much can be produced is the only way to prevent the inflation fiasco we're seeing now
@VusiThembekwayo I think the Bitcoin community is in agreement that it is the most robust medium of exchange ever invented. It's about getting the world at large to see this and, perhaps even harder, getting central banks and regulators to as well (which they have every incentive not to)
@linmeitalks In theory yes but in practice no. The US, UK and ECB have gotten to the point where due to QE policy and money printing, simply raising interest rates will not solve the inflation problem long term. There's simply too much fiat in the system, coupled with supply shortages
@daddyhope The reason why people resort to this is the shocking road infrastructure. This is the only country I know where the highways between major cities are single lanes running in either direction. Also, Harare roads were simply not built for the current volume of vehicles.
@linmeitalks There's a lot of hate like this being spewed from pulpits in the name of "justice and righteousness." And it goes in all sorts of directions: white people, BLM, LGBTQ+...just depends what your agenda is
