That is the right thing to do, judges should learn to ask victims whether they are willing to forgive or not. Because the damage of rape on the victim is so severe that it goes far beyond the physical, it's causes a psychological damage, emotional damage and it goes on to affect the sexual life of that victim and some are left with mental health issues and a severe brain damage, some got stuck in life, they will not be able to do anything meaningful again, some had to commit suicide to end their misery, others only wait for death to come, cause their whole life is totally and completely messed up.
