El 18 de julio de 1994 a las 9:53 de la mañana, un terrible atentado terrorista sacudió Buenos Aires y estremeció a todo el país y también al mundo. El edificio de la AMIA (Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina),
dejando el saldo de 85 muertos y mas de 300 personas heridas. Tal como el atentado a la Embajada de Israel en el 1992, yo todavía estaba en Argentina trabajando en una multinacional. Me transfirieron en 1996 a Europa, pero la impresión personal fue impactante.

As I pack for my annual trip to Buenos Aires on August 15, I'm looking forward to a full month of conversations with clients, public officials, and colleagues who've become friends over the years.
This trip means a bit more this year: it's 40 years since I arrived in Argentina from the USA in 1986, a 29-year-old sent to lead Marketing and Trade for the Colgate-Palmolive subsidiary, with no idea what I was walking into. Hyperinflation and economic disruption I'd never seen back home became my crash course in real-world business.
Four decades later, the lesson still holds: there's no substitute for being on the ground. Reports and data matter, but firsthand conversations and local insight are where you really understand market realities and spot the next opportunity.

There was no evidence of intent by Balogun to harm Muharemovic, and the referee didn't even issue a yellow card in real time, the red card only came after VAR intervened. The case was already under review by FIFA's disciplinary committee before Trump's call and the USA legal team's complaint calling for an independent panel. In the end, it was that same disciplinary committee that overturned the ban. Justice was served.

Just rewatched the classic bilingual sitcom Qué Pasa, U.S.A.? and it hit differently this time. As a Cuban American (who grew up in Puerto Rico) academic who teaches cross-cultural management and cultural awareness, I was struck by how many of the issues it explored back in the late '70s identity, generational clashes, navigating two cultures, and the humor (and tension) in everyday adaptation are surprisingly still so relevant today. Sometimes the best lessons come from stories that feel both nostalgic and surprisingly current. one of my favorite lines is: "Angelito is not black, he is Cuban."

Hoy se cumplen 52 años de la muerte de María Lejárraga, maestra, dramaturga, feminista, diputada durante la 2nd República Española. Escribió durante décadas bajo el nombre de su marido. Sus obras defendían la libertad de las mujeres,pero las firmaba él.
Murió exiliada en Buenos Aires, casi centenaria, casi anónima. Su historia no es la excepción.

Advise to those who are lucky to have their dads alive: Spend as much time with your dad as you can. Listen to his stories. Let him complain about anything he wants to complain about. Watch a ballgame with him. Let him beat you at dominoes and other table games. Revel in his boasting about his grandchildren. Bring him his favorite dessert and let him eat as much as he wants. Tell him about your day. Listen to him bitch and moan about the government, politics and today's society. Take him fishing or to the beach. See your own hands in his. Invite him for a beer. Understand the lifelong sacrifices hidden in his eyes. Thank him for everything. Appreciate him in his entirety. Most important, square away any arguments.
