In collaborative fashion, the @dompute team contributed to a Pull Request linked to our Poseidon circuit repository.
This contribution resulted in an increased speed for the synthesis process in our circuit.
We partitioned the original inputs to Poseidon circuit evenly into chunks of almost identical size and achieved almost linear speedup over the old sequential version.
The main idea of this PR is to apply the new API assign_regions that Scroll added in their Halo2 fork to the Poseidon circuit. This new method allows circuit developers to perform assign_region operations in parallel, thereby parallelizing the circuit synthesis process.
We are excited to announce that we have contributed a PR to @Scroll_ZKP 's poseidon-circuit repository, which speeds up the synthesis process of the circuit (the full E2E test shows the time required was reduced from 158s to 1.8s, a 99% improvement).
