Yesterday was my final day @OasisSouthBank after two incredible years. I am ridiculously fortunate to have taught there, and to have been part of such an electrifying community that positively impacts students' lives EVERY day. They are heroes. #music
Does anyone have a PDF copy of the Edexcel Further Stats 1 textbook they could share with me? We’re deciding on whether to switch out D1 for stats.. @Whitehughes @DrFrostMaths@DrFrostResource@MathsNot
For years & years poor kids did worse at school than rich kids. Over the last couple of decades, despite austerity, there are now some amazing schools that consistently reverse that trend and TLAC is a keystone in the pedagogy of many among them. This should be reason enough 1/3
We are deciding on our Further Maths A-Level modules for next year. We are currently doing D1 and FP1 but considering doing Further Stats instead of D1 hoping it’ll reinforce their single maths stats knowledge. Our students haven’t done great at D1. Any advice!? @DrFrostMaths
Interesting replies here. There is often a disjunct between "what we think they're doing" and "what they're actually doing"
In the hundreds of lessons I've seen where students are taking notes, in *every single occasion* that has meant "copying from the board."
I've seen people talk about some strategies like "summarising" or "organising" with their students, who nod their heads and then...copy from the board.
My top piece of unsolicited advice for @CMcKinnellMP: ask for every piece of guidance that schools have to follow to be physically printed out, brought into your office, and lock the schools DDs in until they’ve reduced it to the size you could take on a plane as hand luggage.
We are absolutely delighted to be able to share an OUTSTANDING judgement from our recent Ofsted visit! ✨
Thank you to our brilliant staff, students and families for making OASB the special place it is.💙
