In the United States of America, the average person living in poverty has hot and cold running water, two vehicles, two televisions, high speed Internet, smartphones AND food to eat every day. For the rest of the world, the average person living in poverty has one or, maybe, two of those things.
For my kids, their biggest hurdle is to decide how old their kids will be when they get their first smartphone.

My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us!
I'm sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis (Florida) trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of presidential candidates calling for policies to "fix" the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around.
I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook's, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we've become completely blind to it.
Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don't give them a second thought.
We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty One Times!!!
Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful. ??
Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, "An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity."
Never saw American prosperity! Let that sink in.
When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I've ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided.
My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let's just say I didn't have the popular opinion, but I digress.
Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country.
People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they've never seen prosperity, and as a result, we elect some politicians who are dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism.
Why? The answer is this,?? my generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn't live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or we didn't see the rise and fall of socialism and communism.
We don't know what it's like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don't have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it's spreading like a plague."
@Mngk@5149jamesli@PrezLives2022 You are so incredibly focused on one thing that you didn't even see the rest of my post. I said I don't know about the loan. But that's not the real issue. You want the Federal Government to take care of individual people. That was your end game. Communisum is your end game.
@Mngk@5149jamesli@PrezLives2022 I don't understand the loan, however, it should never be the job of the Federal Government to hand out money or services to ANYONE. That is the job of local economies to take care of the individual. The Federal Government is responsible for the broader national interests.
Because it isn't just your body. Did you not realize that the result of intercourse is to produce a human being? That is exactly how you were created. Now you are defending women who purposely terminate that human life that was created. Stop being a sheep for the leftist and actually use reason and logic to come to a conclusion that overrides what has been brainwashed into you and so many other people. It's not just about you and your life. At that point there are (at least) three people affected by the decision. There is so much more to life than running around telling people that you are a victim.
God bless you!
@Fynnderella1@LifeUnedited2 If you look deeper into the data centers, you will see that the water companies and electric companies are charging a premium for these places to get power and water. That is what will ultimately fund the infrastructure.
You have to come with ALL the facts.
In the early 90s, we had a port call to Naples, Italy. We referred to it as the armpit of Europe. In 1993, a conservative mayor got elected. He got rid of the organized crime and rampant drug use across the city.
You see, under liberal leadership, I saw people using drugs, needles everywhere, crime going down on every street. It was not enjoyable.
Now, it is a beautiful city, once again. Tourists are no longer afraid to walk the streets. The arts are thriving. Historical buildings have been restored
@PAT_RIOT_001 I have a certain amount of distrust for anyone in leadership. Doesn't matter what the situation is.
That being said, I would gladly serve again under leadership that prefers peace and diplomacy. The world depends on a strong and resilient US military. That is what Hegseth is.
$1,400,000,000 or $1.4 billion…
That’s how much state and federal taxpayer money UC Berkeley gets every year.
The American people are basically funding a Leftist terrorist training camp.
Cut it off. Cut it all off.
Calling all Patriots if you are not following this USMC Vet Retired Leo please consider adding her @Lawgirl_66 she is currently at 4400 let’s help her get to 4800
I have been busy. This truck has been doing overtime. I get 600 miles on a tank (45 gallon) and I start it in the morning and don't get to turn it off until the sun has set, for the most part. Filled it up twice this week. Tomorrow we get a new 5th wheel hitch for the new RV!
@ChoctawMorgan I don't really care if people know where I live. If they want to come the half mile down my driveway to tell me about their lord and savior, Barak Obama, I will gladly baptize them in my septic tank.
