I finally got around to reading the fall '22 @audubonsociety magazine & it was a lovely surprise to see this photo of @jill_tengeres with an Aleutian Tern (handled with permits for her grad research @OregonState) & a link to my story on the imperiled bird! https://t.co/c21lETULub
In 2010, a novel fungal disease started killing ‘ōhi‘a, an important tree for Hawaii's critically endangered birds. Mostly limited to #Hawaii and #Kauai, the fungi's spread to the birds' last refuges could be disastrous.

Terns have been heavily impacted by HPAI. Thousands of Sandwich Terns reported in the Netherlands, and a recent paper describes the thousands more affected in Germany, in addition to other seabirds.

You still have time to apply for these summer field positions! I spent 3 summers working for @AudubonPuffin and highly recommend this awesome opportunity to work with #seabirds!
I met Pimachiowin Aki Indigenous leaders in Winnipeg a few weeks ago and am so impressed with their conservation & management of this amazing place! But I really need to visit during the summer now :)
Pimachiowin Aki, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a landscape of rivers, lakes, wetlands, and #BorealForest on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. @ChadBWilsey writes of his recent visit. https://t.co/bOWwuReiAM
Do you know where the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary would be?
In this video, Chief Fred Collins, original nominator of the sanctuary, tells us more about what area the sanctuary would cover.
@taaltree@ChacCousins Hi Taal- I don't see a significant downside for using "community science" - usually is easy to provide context and avoid confusion. For what it is worth, most Audubon organizations switched terminology in 2018. e.g.: https://t.co/ur7yPQwVwO (scroll down), https://t.co/OLJ8NIoJBJ
A big finish to talks at #PSG2023: @AudubonPuffin puffineer alum Jen Boyce is sharing a summary of California seabird restoration projects funded by oil/chemical spill mitigation!
@PacificSeabirds' Committee on Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity is meeting at #PSG2013 NOW! @foggybinoculars is sharing an equity-based categorization of jobs to be advertised on the PSG website i.e. how do we deal with unpaid internships?!?
