Long weekend of building and fixing things that broke in hunt #2.

Claim system v2 is live. @findingmemeland hunts no longer use DMs — claims are now fully public.

What changed:
→ To claim, you reply to the hunt's Clue 1 post with the code. In the open.
→ First valid claim wins, decided by the reply's own timestamp — publicly auditable by anyone. Copying a code from the thread can't beat the original.
→ Repost Clue 1 BEFORE posting the code. No repost = claim invalid.
→ The winner is asked for their Base wallet right in the thread: 10 minutes, same account only. Miss the window → next in line.
→ Anti-spam: 5 guesses per account, one jeer per profile.

Why: X's DM API is structurally unreliable for automated accounts — messages simply stop being delivered, and I can't fix that from my side. So I rebuilt the channel into something better: the entire race now happens on one public thread, timestamps and all.

I validated the full flow end-to-end in production before shipping — including a real on-chain payout.

Thank you for that. Building a new project myself and 90% of the dms are "you want to partner" "one sol for post". Fuck those parasites. That's the main reason meme culture is in shambles. People need to stop listening to kols and start believing in genuine projects. That's how we all win. There are still honest, hardworking and passionate people that are building cool stuff in this space.

Hunt #2 recap — the good, the bad, and what we're fixing.

The good: someone who'd never heard of us decoded the clues, found a person who doesn't exist, and won 1B $FIND — paid out onchain by the agent itself, no human in the loop. That's the whole thesis working for real.

And it grew. vs hunt #1: ~5x the engagement, 8x the reshares, and profile visits up nearly 30x — all organic, not a cent spent on promotion. Word is spreading on its own.

The bad: we had a bug. another player was actually first, but our system failed to read their follow-up message and credited a later entry instead. That's on us, not on them.

What we did: paid both. the rightful winner got their 1B out of our own pocket, because being first should mean winning — full stop.

What's next: that bug is now the #1 priority before Hunt #3. No new hunt until it's fixed.

We're one person and an agent, building this in the open. we'll make mistakes. What we won't do is hide them or let someone get cheated by our code. We keep building on @base 🐸
