Paul warns us that there will be people who preach a “different Jesus” and a “different gospel” (2 Cor 11:4). That means we can only be saved by believing in the one, true Jesus and the one, true gospel as revealed to us in Scripture.
We are to conduct our lives, “giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited” (2 Cor 6:3). The way we live does affect people’s attitudes about the gospel. So, remember to be holy in your speech, work, decision-making, and actions today.
Just a reminder that, according to 2 Cor 1:3-5, God allows us to be afflicted that we can in turn comfort others in their afflictions. God intends for us to minister to others based on what we learn from and about Him through our trials.
“But because of immoralities, each man is to have his own wife, each woman is to have her own husband” (1 Cor 7:2). According to Scripture, the only acceptable context for sexual expression is marriage.
“No man has…authority over the day of death” (Eccl 8:8). Believers and unbelievers will one day die, but neither knows when. The difference, then, is that the former are prepared for it, but the latter are not. To be rescued from death, you must trust the One who beat it—Jesus.
This looks like a really strong proposal concerning female pastors from the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. They propose an amendment that says an affiliated church...
“affirms the office, function, ordination and title of pastor/elder/overseer to be limited to men as qualified by Scripture. Title shall include any equivalents of the words pastor/elder/overseer, and preaching to the assembled congregation shall be an exclusive function of pastor/elder/overseer or biblically qualified men.”
This is the strongest language I've seen for such an amendment. It would resolve the Fielder Road conundrum if it passes. I hope and pray it does pass at their annual meeting later this year.

“You shall not have in your bag differing weights, a large and a small” (Deut 25:13). The principle of this command is that God expects us to be just in our dealings with others. Don’t cheat others. Instead, honor the Lord by being honest and righteous in all your ways.
Just shared the gospel with a young lady from England named Maddie. She listened and then gave me her thoughts about it. Even though she said she’s not interested in thinking about spiritual things, a gospel seed was still planted. Share and trust God with the results.
“There Aaron died…and Eleazar his son ministered as priest in his place” (Deut 10:6). This verse is a good reminder that all our ministries are temporal and that we’re replaceable. So, make your life count for Jesus bc one day your time, too, will run out.
Just had some Jehovah’s Witnesses knock on our door. Instead of witnessing to us, I witnessed to them and told them they must repent and believe in the true Jesus of the Bible to be saved. Needless to say, they didn’t stay long. Their whole crew left our street soon after.
Moses wasn’t permitted to bring Israel into the land bc he disobeyed God’s command (Num 20:12). This text reminds us that no sin is really a small sin in God’s eyes. Don’t ever think God’s “ok” with any kind of disobedience.
When the prophet Balaam couldn’t curse Israel, he advised King Balak of Moab to entice them with idolatry and sexual immorality (Num 25:1-2). Satan still loves to use these two sins to discredit and detour God’s people. Beware!!
“So they gave out to the sons of Israel a bad report of the land…” (Num 13:32). Only Caleb and Joshua gave a good report on the land that aligned with God’s promise. This scenario reminds us not to simply follow the majority, but to be on the side of those who follow God’s word.
“At the command of the LORD they camped, and at the command of the LORD they set out” (Num 9:23). Like the wilderness generation, we need to stay put and move on as God leads us. Let God lead, and let us follow.
Just watched the new release, A Great Awakening, which recounts how God mightily used George Whitefield to influence Benjamin Franklin, to advance the gospel in colonial America, and shape the future of our great country. It’s a must see movie!!

Be sure to invite and/or bring a guest to church with you for Easter Sunday. Many of our friends, neighbors, family members, and coworkers will come to church, if we’ll just simply ask them.
“I consider it right . . . to stir you up by way of reminder” (1 Pet 1:13). Peter understood the value in reminding believers of what they already knew and had been taught. So, don’t hesitate to keep pointing others, especially your children, back to truths they’ve already heard.
“Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation” (1 Pet 2:2). Here, Peter links spiritual growth to God’s word. Like a baby needs milk, we need daily to feed our souls on the word of God. Engage your Bible often.
James identifies himself as “a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ” (Jam 1:1). As servants of God, we ought to have hearts that are willing to serve wherever, whenever, whoever, and however desires. So, yield yourself to God today without any reservations.
