@DairygoldCo_Op Embarrassing, only thing propping up the price now is the hard work done by the FARMERS improving their %s. No point in engagement meetings if we’re not listened to. But we can have another meeting to be told sorry we got the product mix wrong again. Some articles don’t age well
C.H.F.C 50th anniversary Celebratory Dinner and Book Launch are taking place on Saturday the 23rd of November in the Vienna Woods Hotel. Tickets costing 50€ a head .Book now to avoid disappointment!
@davidkerr67 My vet told me that it was the first time they ever experienced supply problems, they ordered early this year and had a large stock early on. Only problem for them was obviously carrying stock earlier and having to pay for it earlier before any demand
@rayofoghlu Are set back areas too large? As far as I know tree planting has to be 5-10m back from water and then a minimum width of 10m to plant. EIP farming for water might be a better option to plant and put in riparian zones combined with some tree planting
@GearieR Unfortunately my sister and family abandoned in France by insurance company after a car crash(all ok thankfully). Got mad quotes to try get her car home and them. So easier to go get them.
@Walsh50Brendan@grazyfarmer It’s another reason is all. The aim is to cull but hard when a good cow happens to have it. I way up the risk of keeping the cow or not depending on performance, health and breeding. Plenty of “Good” cows that get mastitis a lot get kept on farms as well
@Walsh50Brendan@grazyfarmer It’s another reason for not keeping a poor cow. Good hygiene control around calving will control any spread so why cull a good cow?
@grazyfarmer 2/2 use another cows colostrum and dump any milk from positive cow until clear for the tank. Treat inconclusive results the same. Best performing cow in the herd tested positive 4 years ago but will only leave this year.
@grazyfarmer 1/2 So I didn’t join the johnes program after the mess that was made with the bvd program but I do test it for myself. From the few positive I got back I cull them out unless they’re a good cow. Breed as normal but when calf is born I remove it straight away.
@JerryMoloney1 https://t.co/uL9EoSTbgr has lots of interesting reports on it. Can pick different maps and reports to view. EPA maps on it with watercourses so I think they’re the ones to be fenced off
@ryefarm84@2pintpaddy I don’t disagree with that but it should be YOUR responsibility not the coops to put aside YOUR money that they have retained in a stability fund. Coops terminology regarding how payments especially “Bonuses” are made up is very frustrating when it’s all coming from milk price!
