"My goal in life is to retire as the owner that won the most Super Bowls."
At 83 years old, Dallas Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones still has dreams of winning at least four more Super Bowls. https://t.co/qlogq8Bhj0

i’d argue you’re too easily moved by the choice words. “privilege” and “equality” are selected because they confuse the notion of fairness. another way to frame his statement “if you’re accustomed to succeeding due to hard work, ingenuity, risk/sacrifice, and, sure, some amount of luck, having the outcomes reset so that everyone is rewarded more equally feels unfair.”
is succeeding after making good choices, sacrificing personally, and working hard really “privilege”?
is it oppressive that everyone doesn’t get to the same place?
perhaps the real oppression is the loss of individual liberties when naively egalitarian philosophies mutate into marxism, denying opportunities for individual sacrifice, effort, and achievement to be rewarded.
framed as privilege v equality misses the mark.. equality of opportunity and equality of outcome are v different things. silicon valley’s most successful are the immigrants who found america as one of the only places on earth where an individual with zero baseline privilege can struggle and sacrifice and effortfully succeed. calling them privileged after the fact seems hardly the point. but an easy one to make.
Regarding the US debt / deficit level, here is a reminder that massive deficit increases started in 2023 (not 2021-22) with the full impact of Biden admin spending. @friedberg
NEW: Brown University 'DOGE' student shares his side of the story with Pirate Wires
At Brown University, there's roughly one non-faculty administrator for every two undergrads. Tuition, living expenses, and fees now amount to $93,064 a year. The school runs a $46 million annual budget deficit, and professors constantly complain they’re underpaid.
Trying to make sense of this situation, Brown sophomore @alexkshieh emailed all 3,800+ administrators, asking a simple question: "What do you do all day?" Among the few responses he did get, one person replied "fuck you," and another told him to “stick an entire cactus up [his] ass.” Now, Shieh says Brown is investigating him for “emotional/psychological harm,” among other things.
Today on PW, Alex tells his side of the story — and describes the aftermath. Link is threaded 👇
@JillianMichaels@SenWarren@SenWarren has no credibility when she has taken this money, but the fact is that lawsuits against vaccine manufacturers are not the answer. The lawsuit process is NOT a good science process. We need good science inside NIH, replication studies, etc. NOT lawsuits.
@Jason I learned a lot listening to aggressive argumentation (almost none of which was ad hominem) between Sacks and Cuban. Friedberg and Chamath had great input. People are uncomfortable with vigorous debate these days, but All In is how we can learn.

Watch this two minute segment before tonight’s debate for a refresher on @KamalaHarris’s policies on immigration, drug decriminalization, and gender transition for detained migrants. I expect tonight if she is asked, she will walk back these policy positions.
I made the mistake of voting for @POTUS Biden because I believed him when he presented as a moderate candidate.
@KamalaHarris recent policy changes on immigration, the border wall, taxes, et al are simply blatant attempts to pander to the center in order to get elected.
Don’t make the mistake I did. Who Kamala is and what she believes have not fundamentally changed. The only thing that has changed is that she is now the presidential nominee and is willing to say whatever she is told to say in order to win.
China just arrested the billionaire founder of a free speech messaging app for not moderating and censoring the content to their liking.
Iran is arresting their own citizens for posting things they don’t approve of.
Just kidding…
That was France and England.
@SamApuzzo for tournament: 28 points with 14G on only 21 shots plus 14A and only 3 TO. Fastest thinker, best passer, most effective player in the world IMHO. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us! @WorldLax2022
Watch the @RobertKennedyJr speech with an open mind. I found a man who loves people and is willing to take his last shot at age 70 to fight for a healthier future, heedless of the nasty insults and attacks he will face. “To fight and not to heed the wounds . .” Thank you @CaseyMeansMD and @calleymeans
There is no more important than reversing the chronic disease epidemic.
@CaseyMeansMD and I made this the mission of our lives after our mom was one of the many casualties of our broken health incentives. We started companies to fix the problem and have engaged with any politician who cares.
The chronic disease crisis is existential and spiritual. It’s the bipartisan issue of our time. We are discussing memes and minutiae on the news while our children are being destroyed:
❌77% of young adults don’t qualify for the military based on their health scores. Because of this, the military is lowering recruitment standards.
❌50% of American young adults are overweight or obese.
❌One-third of young adults have pre-diabetes.
❌40% of 18-year-olds meet the criteria for a mental health disorder. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young adults.
❌10% of children have fatty liver disease.
❌Sperm counts plummeting by 50% and decreasing; infertility at epidemic levels. US has the worst infant and maternal mortality rates in the developed world.
This a uniquely American problem. The childhood obesity rate in Japan is around 3%. We spend three times more per capita on health care than Italians - and live five years less.
I am so grateful this vital issue is being brought to the top of the national discussion. @RobertKennedyJr@realDonaldTrump
Please take 40 minutes of your time and listen to one of the most important, moving, and inspirational speeches that I have heard in my lifetime. I expect you will agree.
Alternatively, if you don’t have 40 minutes, listen for five minutes and then you will find time for the rest.
The speech begins at around minute 40.
@RobertKennedyJr addresses the health crisis in our country and its root causes and how he intends to address it. He also scolds the DNC for its anti-Democratic anti-free speech actions during the election.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a Republican, Democrat or otherwise. It is important for you to hear his words, not a short form (mis)translation by the media. We owe him as much for the work, sacrifice, and investment he has made in his campaign and in sharing his important message.
Thank you @RobertKennedyJr!
