The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, whoever sits in a gathering and indulges in useless talk and before getting up supplicates:

Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaika—

“Oh Allah, You are free from every imperfection; praise be to You. I testify that there is no true god except You; I ask Your Pardon and turn to You in repentance.” He will be forgiven for the sins he may have intentionally or unintentionally committed in that assembly.

The Qur’an describes a moment that explains why being human feels so heavy.

Allah offered the Amanah (the Trust) to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains. These creations were vast and powerful—but they refused. Not out of disobedience, but out of fear of failing the responsibility.

Then humanity accepted it.

Allah says:

“Indeed, We offered the Trust (Amanah) to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and were afraid of it; and man undertook it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.”
(Qur’an 33:72)

The Amanah is understood as free will—the ability to choose, to obey or disobey, to act with sincerity or to turn away. Unlike the rest of creation, humans are not forced to obey. Every choice carries weight.

This is why life involves struggle, responsibility, and inner conflict. Choosing what is right when it is hard is part of carrying the Trust.

Feeling overwhelmed does not mean you are weak.
It means you are carrying what even the mountains feared.

“Whoever wakes up during the night and says:

Lā ilāha illaLlāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah,
lahu al-mulku wa lahu al-ḥamd,
wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr.
Al-ḥamdu liLlāh, wa subḥānaLlāh,
wa lā ilāha illaLlāh, waLlāhu akbar,
wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā biLlāh.
( ‘There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner.
To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things competent.
All praise is for Allah. Glory be to Allah.
There is no deity except Allah. Allah is the Greatest.
There is no power and no might except with Allah.’ )

Then says: ‘O Allah, forgive me,’ — or makes any supplication — it will be answered.

And if he performs ablution and prays, his prayer will be accepted.”
