Today I'm 23

Gotta love growing up

This year was the toughest and the most rewarding in my whole life

At least I think so now

However, I'm sure I'll say the same thing about the next year when I turn 24

It's not about the number, sure

But it's my personal new year, my day of a huge reassessment.

Now that I look back, this platform makes a big part of my growth this year

Without it I wouldn't have met so many wonderful souls and aspiring minds

Nor I would've known the path I want to take.

So today I want to appreciate everyone who found me here on the Internet

Today, tomorrow, in a year and in decades

This message goes far beyond a long tweet

This message is a greeting to myself

Happy Birthday dude!

I nearly got sucked into a Russian Mafia court case

In September I was offered a podcast host role

A chubby Russian flee journalist gathered me and a bunch of youngsters to launch a live podcast

The goal was to help Russian speaking community to settle in Spain

Some sponsor was going to cover all the expenses on studio, professional equipment and salary for hosts

It was too good to be true

So I chose to wait and see

Weeks passed but our team had no clear vision on the next steps

Suddenly, multiple conflicts emerged in our telegram chat

The journalist was upset for:

• Us not paying for the studio
• Not getting free work from us
• Spending 50 euros on a picnic

Actually that expensive picnic was the only thing we got from him at that point

You see? Throwing some dust in the eyes…

He kept convincing us we’ll get an enormous salary

But deadlines were moving every day

Some of the guys called him out for not paying for their SMM services

He instantly deleted them from the chat and talked sh*t about them

Another funny detail appeared:

We found his second telegram account

Turns out he’s doing some illegitimate business, cleaning out Interpol registers

Is that the 'Sponsor'? 😏

In a matter of days we traced down his lawyer

A partner in crime

Next thing we know - news title:

The lawyer linked to our silly journalist is under investigation due to suspicion in money laundering for Russian Mafia

Bro…

Get this,

I was this🤏🏻 close to working with a mobster

I really wanted to host a podcast but not like this 😄

Of course, our whole group immediately showed him the middle finger and blocked him

The lessons:

• Don’t trust strangers at first sight

• Always value your time and charge accordingly

• If the offer is too good to be true, you’re being lead into a trap

Scammers act cool at first but once they get your disposal they’ll use you and leave without paying a dime

...Or possibly even link you to a court case
