Governor Ademola Adeleke has received a resounding endorsement from the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Osun State Chapter, citing the administration’s remarkable commitment to pensioners’ welfare as the basis for their support ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election.
Speaking during the endorsement ceremony, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Osun State Chapter, Alhaji (Chief) S. Ola Odefisayo, described the occasion as a historic and memorable moment for pensioners across the state, noting that Governor Adeleke’s administration has transformed the lives of retirees through people-centered policies and compassionate governance.
According to the NUP Chairman, pensioners remain enthusiastic about the free medical services provided through the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), describing the initiative as a major intervention that has significantly improved access to healthcare for senior citizens. He also commended the governor for ensuring prompt payment of pensions and allowances as and when due.
Alhaji Odefisayo further praised Governor Adeleke for recognizing the dignity of pensioners and treating them with respect, adding that the administration’s achievements include the payment of half-salary deductions inherited from previous administrations, donation of a bus to pensioners, provision of borehole facilities through OHIS, implementation of a ₦25,000 minimum pension, prompt payment of contributory pension obligations, and approval of outstanding pension adjustments.
He emphasized that the endorsement was not an act of praise-singing but a sincere acknowledgment of good governance and responsible leadership.
The pensioners’ leader, while appreciating the administration’s accomplishments, also used the opportunity to remind the government of pending obligations, including the payment of outstanding minimum pension adjustments and gratuities.
He expressed confidence that Governor Adeleke would continue to address the remaining issues in line with his demonstrated commitment to pensioners’ welfare.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Osun State Chapter, Comrade Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo, strongly defended the dignity of workers while responding to recent derogatory remarks allegedly made by a chieftain of the opposition APC, who claimed that tailors were better than civil servants.
One of the reasons Osun pensioners trooped out today to declare their total support for the re-election of Governor Adeleke.
Never again will the people of Osun consider voting for the APC.
"Osun voters are rooting for Adeleke massively"– Kikelomo Matuwo, former PDP member who decamped to APC cries out.
Osun is moving forward ACCORDingly. No way for retrogressive force in Osun
Governor Ademola Adeleke arrives at the adoption ceremony organized by the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Osun State, at Anglican Grammar School, Osogbo.
We have statistics and evidence of a government that places the welfare of workers and pensioners at the heart of governance.
In just over three years, Governor Ademola Adeleke has committed over ₦30.2 billion to pensions, gratuities, and accrued rights in Osun State. This surpasses the ₦19 billion recorded in four years under the previous administration.
Governor Ademola Adeleke is keeping faith with the people of Osun State.

OSUN APC IN TOTAL COLLAPSE AS WAVE OF RESIGNATIONS HITS THE PARTY
• Loss of confidence in Oyetola and Oyebamiji deepens across party ranks
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has observed with keen interest the growing wave of resignations, defections, and open expressions of dissatisfaction currently sweeping across the Osun APC.
What is happening within the APC is no longer an isolated incident. It is a clear manifestation of a party suffering from internal collapse, loss of direction, leadership failure, and a growing crisis of confidence among its members.
Across local governments and wards, loyal party members who invested years of commitment, sacrifice, and resources into building the APC are now openly walking away from the party. The reason is simple. Many no longer believe in the leadership of Gboyega Oyetola and Oyebamiji, nor do they believe the party offers any credible future for Osun State.
People do not abandon a political party they have confidence in. They do not resign from a platform they believe is growing stronger. What we are witnessing today is a vote of no confidence in the direction, leadership, and prospects of the Osun APC.
The party has become synonymous with imposition, internal injustice, abuse of privilege, and the silencing of genuine party members. Those who laboured to build the APC are now watching outsiders and political opportunists take over the structure while their sacrifices are ignored.
While the APC battles internal rebellion and an unprecedented loss of confidence, Governor Ademola Adeleke continues to enjoy growing acceptance across Osun State because of visible governance, infrastructural development, workers' welfare, pension reforms, healthcare improvements, and people-centred leadership.
The message coming from the grassroots is becoming louder by the day. The people have moved on, and increasingly, many members of the APC are moving on too.

Today, by the grace of God and the support of the good people of Osun, I have been divinely affirmed as the goalkeeper to man the goalpost of Osun State Government against any potential intruder.
I remain confident because our administration has genuinely served the people. From infrastructure to workers’ welfare, education, healthcare and grassroots development, our record speaks for itself.
As we prepare for the August 15 election, I am ready to visit every town and village to present our achievements and unveil an updated Five Point Agenda for a greater Osun.
I call on the opposition to stop running away from issue-based campaigns and allow Osun people decide based on facts, performance and truth.
With God on our side and the people behind us, victory is assured. Imole continuity is imminent.
I hope my guys @RealAdeshina and @salawueedris1 have now seen that the consultation by Oyebamiji that you guys were celebrating is just that. Former Governor Oyinlola has made it clear he will work and vote for the reelection of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
