Still humbled by this. Thank you to everyone and @NSMASportsMedia as my award for Sportscaster Of The Year arrived today. It would have been a privilege to celebrate this achievement at the banquet, but that evidently was not in the cards for me. Congrats to all the winners who will get to celebrate this weekend.

@Colby_Daniels@jeremiepoplin@scottpfeil@DustyDvoracek@rcourisports@bryce_hulse All of you are outstanding at what you do!! Having established three stations,
IMO it’s the market itself that is unable to sustain longevity!! Kudos to Griffin to allowing you guys to finish up the month!! Proud to know you all and to have shared a mic with you!!
Why can’t horse racing do this type of graphic for the Triple Crown Races especially the 20-horse field Kentucky Derby? That way you could see a horse coming making a “close” at the end of the race!! #Derby150
Funny Blake Griffin story:
When I was a little kid, probably like 5 or 6, Blake was still at OCS. For some odd reason, he came to Crossings to play in the student/staff game and I’d never seen anything like it. First time I’d ever seen anyone dunk like that in my life. I was hooked, he was going to be one of the greats.
After the game was over, of course it was a mad house to get his autograph. I told my dad the whole week before that I was going to get his autograph for sure. I came prepared. I knew he was going to OU and was likely an NBA player, so I had to capitalize.
Autograph line got cut short and I was completely heartbroken. They said he had to leave in a hurry, and I was one of the last people that didn’t get an autograph.
I walked out of the gym with tears in my eyes, couldn’t go back to my kindergarten class. I went to the bathroom to sulk and be alone.
Our janitor, Sergio, who didn’t speak great English, walked in and found a distraught 5 year old with a basketball, a picture, and a sharpie and tried to console me the best he could. He couldn’t quite understand why I was devastated, but was determined to fix it. After a while, he realized nothing was working.
So he offered me a proposition. He said I’ll sign everything with Blake’s signature and you don’t have to tell anyone. It’ll be just like his real autograph and you can hang it up. Don’t worry one bit.
I thought this was just incredible. It’s the same thing right? It’s still his signature! I miss out on Blake’s autograph, but technically I’m still getting it. Spirits were rejuvenated and I’m back on Cloud 9. Sergio signed my basketball and picture and I ran back to my classroom showing all my friends.
Got home from school and showed my dad my brand new Blake Griffin autograph and he was so proud. He said we’d go to all the OU games and he’d always be one of my favorite players from then on.
I held onto Blake Griffin’s (Sergio’s) autograph for as long as I could remember. I don’t think I’ve actually ever told anyone that it was the janitor’s autograph. So here I am coming clean.
Sergio saved the day, and Blake Griffin was still one of my all time favorite basketball players — and he always will be.
Congrats on retirement, thank you for all the memories @blakegriffin23
Jokic, Luka and Brunson are all deserving of the MVP… but Shai leading the second youngest team to the best record in an absolutely STACKED Western Conference while putting up numbers like MJ and Steph did during their MVP seasons is the reason HE is the MVP of the league!!! It’s also the reasons why @shaiglalex got my vote for MVP!!! Carry the hell on…
