The moment she realizes who her new family is and that she doesn't need to return to Jakku, since that new family does return to save her from Ren at Starkiller Base, really hit me hard. Now I'm eager to read other adaptations. 😳😳😳
Another digital novel finished. It's my first time reading a novelization of one of the films, this one in particular is from Rey's perspective in The Force Awakens.
I liked that it expands on the film's lore and connects with other media like Before the Awakening, some comics and animated shorts. It's very enriching to know what Rey feels and thinks when she meets BB-8 and Finn, and very sad how and when she realizes who Kylo Ren truly is.
Finished it. Liked it, but didn't love it. Even though it's a story that takes place after The Rise of Skywalker, most of the book consists of flashbacks to Jannah and Finn's past in the First Order. The ending felt a bit flat, but I really enjoyed learning more about TZ-1719. 😊
It was to be expected that both Jannah and Finn would desert, since they are both very good people, concerned about others and those around them. I also enjoyed learning why Jannah knows how to ride an Orbak, and why Finn is so bad at sword fighting.
