I'm all for player empowerment, but I'm not sure on the "unethical" aspect of RFA. Instead of having a contract for x amount of years and then entering free agency, they have the opportunity to get more money a year earlier. And if they can't they play out the last year of their deal.
@snozburries@esidery If this post is even true, someone else would go out in a separate trade that is $3mil more in salary than Green coming back. Watson would just be for the pick.
@den_shorts I think you're being a little hyperbolic. Sure, it isn't the best contract in the league, but he was coming off 6MOY recognition prior to the injury. I think we just need to relax and let everything play out.
@jt_tk6@JMurrayWrld Don't get me wrong, there's no way in hell I'd give him his asking price, but 4/70mil is a low ball offer. It's say 3/70 or 4/85 is fair. Especially considering he would get more on the open market. Good thing it's not open.😉
Can someone from the fan base that thinks signing a 42yo LeBron or trading away an all NBA, position of need, guard in Jamal is the only hope their team has, explain to me how keeping Spencer Jones is a make or break decision?
@Hoopss Because the Wizards stunk. Philly was going to contend with or without LeBron.
Jordan went there after retiring and was option #1 immediately. LeBron most nights in Philly will be the 3rd or 4th option (sometimes 5th).
@Will_d_jones I'm not so sure. If Embiid stays healthy 🤣, they will be the team to beat in the east. I think Denver would have been a better choice, but I'm biased.😉
@Oltjon_Cle@0xarslan Well it seems pretty naive if you can't see this potentially being a problem and only as a "learning experience". I'm a BIG fan of coach Karl. But not knowing the entire scenario, this looks like a misstep.
@Oltjon_Cle@0xarslan I wasn't there and I'm in no real position to judge, but it would seem that coach didn't "read the room" very well. Conversely, JR and Melo obviously knew coach had no ill intent. But they put this out there knowing how people (especially today) would react.
@NirajRush I don't know what's worse, the fact that people completely ignore that this is fantasy with ridiculous posts like this. Or the fact that nerds like me feel compelled to explain why it's possible.
