RIP POLLY SAMUEL (Donna Williams) : author, artist, singer-songwriter, screenwriter, presenter, consultant & all round dag.
Run by her husband @chris_bloke
So lovely to see this interview with Andrew Brenner of @PabloTVShow, my late fab wife @donna_williams worked with him on Pablo, and he became a good friend and even flew to Australia for her memorial. Thanks for sharing Paul!
Great quote and perspective by the late Donna Wililams (Polly Samuel) on the idea that "autism" is not one thing, not one presentation and not one representation. She myth-busts by saying simply that autism is an adjective not a definer of the person. #donnawiliams#autism
Happy International Women's Day - Dearest Polly I always admired you for your strength, autonomy and realness. It was a pleasure to know you. I miss your laugh and your original thinking but echoes of that can be found in your paintings, books and music.
Happy birthday Polly, you would have been 57 today. ❤️
Photo from her last birthday in 2016, where the lovely folks at the restaurant we had gone to in Mount Dandenong had gone to special lengths to make her a dessert she could eat.
I'll leave you with the wonderful short by our friends at Paper Owl and Nondescript which captures Polly's spirit so well, and with her infectious laugh.

3 years ago I'd taken my fab late wife @donna_williams to hospital for the last time, this time to the hospice ward. We had quite the living wake there. Now I drink a toast to her, for everything she did for me & that we did together & for setting me on the road I am now on.
@DrRubySapphire My late wife @donna_williams used to describe autism as reality with the volume turned up. She'd say if anyone had "enough straws on the camels back" (deprived of sleep, stressed, overwhelmed by loud noise, etc) they may start to exhibit autistic behaviours like hers (or others)
Today is Polly's 56th birthday, she loved to sing & especially to sing Edith Piaf (she was born less than 2 days after Piaf died). In this sequence taken by Marisol over Skype she's singing Piaf the night before going into palliative care with me (Chris) & late friend Morghana.
Two years ago our good friend Scott was MC'ing my wonderful late wife's @donna_williams memorial service. He did an awesome job, helped by the fact that Polly had planned the whole thing out for us! ❤️
My wonderful late wife @donna_williams was hoping that these laws would get passed, she was determined that people with a terminal illness should get the right to die a good death with dignity if they so chose.

@chris_bloke@donna_williams She was such a bright light, Chris. Her book, "Nobody Nowhere", is a real family treasure for us. It helped both my Mum and I SO much with my autistic son. Made us both dig in harder when the docs gave us no hope. He's 31 now. I think she'd be proud <3
“Time is a thief, which steals the chances that we never get to take. It steals them while we are asleep. Let’s make the most of it, while we are still awake.” - @donna_williams *+*+*
My fab late wife @donna_williams and I, just over two years ago in Melbourne. She didn't let anything slow her down, even cancer. This is 8 days before she died here & here she is climbing trees.
Two years ago my wonderful late wife @donna_williams and I were on our last holiday together, a trip up to the Blue Mountains in NSW, mirroring our first trip in Australia after we arrived in 2002. ❤️
To bookend the day, in Great Malvern my wonderful late wife @donna_williams and I lived in Sunset House. Today I find myself living in another house with amazing sunsets. Vale Polly. ❤️
