What an exciting day! We learned a lot of fire safety and got to see all the equipment on Pump truck 44.

We loved seeing the ladder truck come back after having to leave to assist with a call. The kids had a ton of questions for the firefighters!

We have a class set of peas and sunflowers (plus some extras). We’re also doing some experiments with our seeds involving their water and exposure to sunlight. Ask your child about it.

We planted 2 different types of seeds today. We will hopefully see some plants sprouting up next week. 🤞

We LOVE doing our ‘Write Around The Room’ during math centres. They were eager to find 24 little cards hidden around the room and record the fraction that was pictured on each card.

What an amazing show yesterday! The class was still talking about it today. The cast and crew were exceptional. Thank you to Ms Russell, @mmerusso04 , Ms Reed & @MelissaTemi for all the hard work in bring this play together. You helped develop some core memories for many kids.

Our new words are focusing on the ‘oo’ sounds. We talk about using our knowledge of how to read and spell one word to help us read and spell many other words. We need to be flexible because not all words with the same sound follow the same spelling pattern.

We’ve finished our Math unit on balancing equations. It is a great unit to sharpen our number sense skills. Now we are working on understanding positional words to strengthen are spacial sense.

A great way to learn how to balance equations is to use a balance scale. The different colour cubes represent the numbers. We know that the numbers on both sides of the equal sign must be the same (there’s just different ways to show these numbers).

We learned a new game during our gym time today. Ask your child how to play Rocks, Paper, Scissors Tag.
