After 21 I used to ask my mom to go out late at night and she’d still say no. One day i practiced “informing” her that I will be going out with my friends and not coming back and got an “Okay”. 😭👍🏿
One thing about adulthood that way too many people learn way too late (and have no choice but to learn the hard way): you have to be deliberate/proactive about everything. For the first time in your life, you can't be passive participant in anything.
In 1998, I was fired from my corporate job while 9 months pregnant because and I quote, “my priorities would be elsewhere after the baby is born.”
The lawyer I hired told me I didn’t have a case because discrimination like “that” was almost impossible to prove.
So I got pissed.
Took the LSAT. Went to law school. Passed the bar. Had 3 more kids.
Twelve years later, another woman from that same company was fired for the same reason. She sued them for a million dollars, and won, partly because I had kept every piece of evidence from what happened to me years prior demonstrating a systemic pattern of discrimination against women.
That company no longer exists. My law practice is thriving. And that baby they said would derail my priorities? She’s a brilliant attorney now working at my firm.
Turns out my priorities were indeed, elsewhere.
I read in the Old Testament that the priest inspects a sacrifice (an animal) at the tabernacle entrance to ensure it is good for sacrifice {Leviticus 1:3-10}
And when Jesus appeared before Pilate, Pilate said “I find no fault in this man”
MY GOD!!! 🔥🙌🏾
@MinisterSidonia And sometimes the season of waiting is the season where God does His deepest work.
The olive tree grows slowly in the Holy Land, yet it endures for generations. Faith is often formed the same way. ✨
You keep asking God for a new season but you haven’t grown in the one you’re in.
You don’t just enter into new season, you grow into them.
•Refocus
•Return to prayer
•Return to obedience
•Build stamina
Seasons don’t change your strength, they reveal it. (Proverbs 24:10)
David was anointed but he had to learn how to play the Harp.
He had to learn how to use a sling shot.
There’re too many anointed people who lack skills.
God anoints, but the anointing flows through your learned skills.
Blessed is he who delights in the Word of God and meditates on it day and night. He shall be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in and out of season. The leaf does not wither and he prosper in whatever he does 💙
God reveals Himself to us according to our level of understanding and intimacy with Him. The more intimate we become with Him, the more He reveals deeper things to us. The more we yield to Him and study His Word, the more He helps us gain deeper insight about Him💙
