@adamlyttleapps It's not the talking head videos that people are commenting (negatively) on. They're great. It's the over the top narration. I'm watching your latest video right now and I'm like, "yeah, this is good, it's totally natural." Talking to a camera is not easy.
@adamlyttleapps I know you have kids and I'm not sure if any of them are teenagers yet, but man, wait until you try to keep up with the lingo. My teenagers are speaking another language.
Facing the problem of marketing my app, I'm going deep on creating content to market this thing. Good part is that my market is me and it's something I love doing: spending time in the outdoors.
Charging up the drone, GoPro and cameras. Taking a camping trip this week where I'll be shooting lots of video. Then, posting to my YouTube channel, Instagram and TikTok.
The idea is to create a bunch of different videos from many clips. It's also a great way to test and improve the app while using it.
The nice part is, with all of the tools available for developers today, it's not a huge risk to build the web version because I'll be able to build it pretty quickly.
I'm at the point where I'm not 100% sure my app will gain traction. Does anyone really need it? I did some market validation and it was positive but you never really know.
Wild Plan was never intended to just be an iOS app. I have bigger plans.
Despite the uncertainty of whether or not this thing has legs, I'm going to double down on it and create a web version. I guess it's time to learn Next.js.
@MarcEstwick@ios_dev_alb Thanks. It's funny because the icon was super simple. I found the mountain peaks on https://t.co/REs9PPYoxt and I used https://t.co/t5Aaq1YlD0 to create the actual icon. Super simple.
Fine. I'm going to do this #buildinpublic thing despite my better judgment telling me it's probably fruitless because the market for my app is not even on X.
I have come to the realization that ASO is not going to work for me. At least, it's not going to be a significant driver of downloads for my app. So far, my ASO efforts have amounted to a fart in a wind storm. Time for another strategy.
@SolveigApps I keep seeing this too. But I wonder if it's worth the effort involved dealing with that platform. I loath it, but if it works it works I guess.
