@JELyons11@broadwaybabyto Behind the various reports of celebrities canceling events due to COVID, I really wonder how many attendees at events that do take place go in or come out with an infection.
@WalshFreedom Whoever gets a *majority* of the votes. That might require a two-round system. Problem with *most* votes (really just “first past the post”) is the potential for gaming the system with candidates to split opposing votes, and ending up with a victor most people don’t want.
After 3 long, hard years of tireless work, our cross-campus, multi-discilinary academic team reaching our goal: State of CT support to scale up CR Boxes for every classroom in Connecticut! 💪🌬️💫💫
This passion project started from the point of care at @uconnhealth 🏥where I have been treating people living with MS since 2017 as a neuro-immunology nurse practitioner. 👩⚕️
When the 🦠 pandemic struck, my immunosuppressed patients were vulnerable - majority females with families and many educators that work in our CT Schools. 👩🏫👦🧒 [https://t.co/u1dVpgMRoV]
I looked at the mitigation efforts in these hubs of our communities and saw a gap - no air purifiers in schools, while @JohnsHopkinsSPH and @HarvardChanSPH recommended this intervention.[https://t.co/LX9zc5G02u]
Wayback Machine running strong (yippie!).
Still working to bring https://t.co/Hk02WjumkL items & other services online safely.
@internetarchive team spirits high, but tired.
Last day to oppose. The Forest Service must keep GMOs out of public forests!
GE trees are no exception. They constitute unprecedented, irreversible and unnecessary risks!

@Yash25571056 “Key-person risk”: Depending too much on one person for organizational success is risky
On executive function in governing complex societies, it’s crazy to put too much power in the hands of one person. Their health or foibles can impact millions
It’s also a structural issue
A fresh take...
On L is same as on right in previous pair: 山西糯小米 shānxī nuò xiǎomǐ (Shanxi glutinous #foxtailmillet)
On R is 山西小米 shānxī xiǎomǐ (Shanxi foxtail millet; i.e., regular)
Note different grain sizes. Is any glutinous/sticky foxtail variety that much bigger?
Back to the pair of items at the start of the thread, here are the reverse sides. Unfortunately, the ingredients in English don't help
While not in a position to say that SLR Food Distribution / Wise Wife brand made a mistake, I did not see a difference in the packages' contents
@GMOFreeUSA A varied diet including fresh vegetables (perhaps cooked in sauces eaten with regular rice) can provide ample provitamin A. Some animal products are rich in vitamin A
Improving incomes & access to these sources, along with education re diet & health would have other benefits too
@j_g_allen BUT “Since 2005, four British power plants have been converted from coal to biomass as part of the transition to a low-carbon electricity grid. They now burn the equivalent of 27 million trees in wood pellets”

Forest biomass is the new coal
A store window displaying the CO2 level measured inside? Science fiction? No, it's happening in Japan. In this country, many public places display the CO2 level measured to assess the quality of indoor air renewal.

@deAdder Another reason to stay (regardless of label) is the international legacy from Twitter days. For example, a few years ago one analysis had it that Twitter was more popular than Facebook among Africans
Like to see an objective analysis of whether/how that is changing
