🇺🇸UPDATE: Tether faces a Senate probe over millions paid to former White House crypto adviser Bo Hines' firm.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal, the top Democrat on the Senate’s investigations subcommittee, is demanding ALL contracts, payment records, crypto wallet addresses and lobbying communications by November 6.
The inquiry follows WSJ reporting that a Tether arrangement generated $6.3 MILLION for Nxum, with payments beginning while Hines retained a one-third stake and helped shape the GENIUS Act. Tether later hired him to lead its U.S. operations.
Blumenthal says the arrangement raises potential federal ethics, anticorruption and lobbying-law violations. Tether says an external counsel investigation found no wrongdoing.
The scrutiny has now escalated from a media investigation to formal Senate demands for records.
Debasement is the slow story. The fast one is on Hyperliquid's $BTC book: a $6.3M sell wall was just pulled at 81,600 and put back at 81,100, about 0.6% above price.
📉 BIG: Since 2016, the US dollar has lost 26% of its purchasing power, according to IMF data charted by River.
Even the best performer, the Bahraini dinar, is down 6%. The Venezuelan bolívar is down 99.99%.
🚨MASSIVE: Arthur Hayes says “I DUMPED IT ALL” as Maelstrom liquidates roughly $22.3MILLION in altcoin positions.

- 14M ENA ($2.76M),
- 323,000 UNI ($2.24M),
- and additional positions in ETHFI, AERO, PENDLE and ZAMA.
The move comes just nine days after Hayes shared bullish views on Bitcoin and Ether.
He now cites growing macro and geopolitical uncertainty, warning that markets could drop further before rebounding.

CME Chairman: Hyperliquid Will Struggle to Enter the U.S. Market Without Addressing KYC Requirements
On October 20, 2026, CME Group CEO Terry Duffy @CMEGroup said on Bloomberg's Odd Lots podcast @podcasts that Hyperliquid cannot shift all regulatory responsibility to users or deployers by claiming it merely provides the underlying infrastructure. He argued that the lack of know-your-customer checks, combined with high leverage and automatic liquidation mechanisms, could trigger cascading liquidations and disrupt markets.
Platforms have a duty to oversee trading and ensure fair and orderly market participation. He stressed that Hyperliquid must comply with U.S. law if it wants to enter the U.S. market, adding that, in his view, the operating model proposed by its founder Jeff Yan raises multiple compliance issues.
