Which cards can SAVE you from the tax office? 👀
After @0xVishnya Tweet “Which cards will report you to your tax office?”, I went through the cards from the other side.
Important: none of these legally makes you tax-free. The difference is who holds your data and who may report your activity.
Cards worth looking at:
• @gnosispay: The money is in your Safe wallet, Gnosis does not hold your funds, it is not obliged to report as a full-fledged CASP
• @wirexapp One: the funds remain under your control. The fiat rails (IBAN, etc.) go through OpenPayd.
• @coca_card: Fully self-custody (wallet based on Privy/MPC). COCA positions itself as a software layer and claims that it does not report itself.
• @RedotPay: offshore structure; less direct EU reporting, but higher regulatory risk.
• @payy_link: PAYY itself keeps a minimum of data as a front.
• @MetaMask Card: As a wallet, MetaMask does not collect your personal data for tax purposes and does not report it.
• @useTria: Self-custody (you have the keys, TSS/MPC technology). The funds remain in your wallet until they are spent.
• @holyheld: provider does not store your crypts all the time, less data for a possible automatic report.
• @oobit: you can connect your external wallet (MetaMask, Phantom, etc.) and spend it without first transferring it to your Oobit balance.
• @1inch Card: provider does not keep your funds in their accounts all the time
• @solflare Card: similarly, the card provider has less custodial data.
• Ledger CL: self-custody + credit model
Offshore / higher-risk:
• @xhypeofficial: lighter KYC, offshore-style structure
• @solcard / @LasoFinance / @cryptoBingCard / @kripicard: minimal-KYC options, but much higher freeze/BIN risk
important:
- No card makes you free. You still have to declare your income/profits yourself.
- DAC8 (European rules from 2026) forces regulated providers (banks, EMI, CASP) to report data on EU residents to the tax authorities.
- Self-custody = the money is in your wallet, the card provider does not see all your balances and history.
