@carriesheffield I take issue with your certainty. To use your numbers, 5% of biologists disagree. Are they immoral? Is morality not subject to individual interpretation? There are gray areas between the black and white ones. I see them. Do you?
@carriesheffield I’m concerned you think that your interpretation should trump mine. But I don’t feel my interpretation trumps yours. This is the very essence of individual liberty.
@carriesheffield Upon conception, only the woman is viable. The embryo isn’t — the embryo is completely dependent on the woman for all necessary nutrition, oxygen and life support. But that’s the science. The morality is different. It’s subject to individual interpretation. Mine. Yours.
@carriesheffield Dobbs is an attention getter in the short run and a political loser in the long run. The war on alcohol in the 1920s and the war on drugs in the 1980s prove this.
@carriesheffield The best argument: Do we want the GOP or the government to be the Life Police, interviewing doctors about our visits, scrutinizing our health records, monitoring our mail for abortion medications? … I think not. I would prefer — liberty.
@carriesheffield You’re right: Pregnancy by rape is not common though it does occur. I agree there are other better arguments to not go down this path.
