@MissMelanie_T I think England’s defence can hold their head up high, and Mary Earps was outstanding. But from a midfield and forward perspective it just wasn’t good enough. England could have had another 90 mins out there and might not have scored a goal.

@MissMelanie_T Of course they’re playing their heart out, but let’s not pretend this defeat was down to bad luck or the ref. England barely created anything of note. Spain weren’t lucky, they played better football on the day. I’ve watched England for years and I know they can produce better.

Honestly one of the worst England first half’s I’ve ever seen. Unable to create anything clear cut. Main goal seems to be to pass the ball backwards and allow Spain to win it back off us so they can control the game. Improvement is needed or it’ll be 2-0 soon. #ESP #ENG

@Jebbiebell I do understand that part, I get he wasn’t last man back but it would have been FAR easier for Almiron to score once he’d got past Martinez. Which makes it a clear denial of a goal scoring opportunity. If pope did that I’d be feeling very fortunate he’s still on the pitch.
