Rare scenes of protest in Hong Kong emerged: a group of citizens gathered in Central, the busiest commercial area, and held blank papers. Police arrived and protestors' IDs were marked. It's been a long time since protests are staged in the streets after NSL.

Students from the elite school Tsinghua University protested with Friedmann equation. I have no idea what this equation means, but it does not matter.
It's the pronunciation: it's similar to "free的man" (free man)—a spectacular and creative way to express, with intelligence.
The British handed over control of Hong Kong to China in 1997 with the promise that China would retain the area's autonomy. China lied. Ukraine handed over its nukes in 1994, with American support, in exchange for a promise from Russia not to invade. Russia lied.
2020: China takes Hong Kong. The West does nothing.
2021: The Taliban are handed Afghanistan by the West.
2022: Russia takes Ukraine.

Totally outrageous
9 years for waving a flag with a slogan that scares Chinese Communist Party regime
Yet another example of Beijing's all-out assault on freedom of expression in #HongKong

NINE YEARS for waving a flag and dangerous driving. Let's just face the truth: rule of law in Hong Kong is gone and the court is weaponized to persecute protestors severely.
Activist Tong Ying-kit jailed for 9 years in HK's first national security case https://t.co/pd3K31eUfR
A complete outrage which shames 🇬🇧
We promised to maintain HK’s high degree of autonomy and way of life.
What did #HK get?
9 years in jail for waving a flag Beijing doesn’t like.
@DominicRaab we must move to accountability.
For voicing his beliefs, flying a flag with a slogan that represents the spirit of millions of Hongkongers, Tong Ying-kit received a 9-year sentence under #NSL. Tong is in his prime time and now he will spend 9 years of his youth behind the iron bars of this brutal regime.
