@ZeroCool138 Last year and this year were his chances to prove he could evolve into the regista role. Seems clear he’s just a destroyer with a little bit of passing chops
@GalaxyPodcast Cerrillo late to track back and pulling up when he was clearly within sliding range is just really rough. He had a major opportunity to step up and own the midfield with Riqui out again, and the midfield struggles have been glaring. Sad to see him hit such a developmental wall.
@ZeroCool138 The passing windows are constantly open, as long as the players themselves are thinking fast enough to find them. That’s a big ask for a couple of them. Toluca are extraordinarily disciplined defensively.
@ZeroCool138 Considering the significant talent delta, they actually looked pretty good and spent the ~10-40 min mark growing into the game. Can tell the attack is developing chemistry, if they can just get past the 1st or 2nd ball without putting each other under needless pressure.
@GalaxyPodcast Here's a fun stat for you. Only two MLS teams have double-digit shots from inside the box in every game so far this year: Galaxy and LAFC.
@GalaxyPodcast Feels like he's a good floor player at DM, but he also caps the ceiling. Way too slow, ponderous, and predictable on the ball for as many touches as he gets. He passes up SO MANY opportunities to skip the obvious pass and take the (always open) progressive linebreaking option.
@GalaxyPodcast If ANYTHING that’s a red the other way. Would’ve been harsh, but a PK and a yellow on review after calling nothing live is absolute malpractice.
@CDonnick1 I was only being like 70% serious, but it’s seemed kinda like them being willing to give the offense a shot at stepping on the throat and building some confidence while knowing how vulnerable the opposing O is, meaning the downside is that the D gets to play with their food lol
