If you outsource your reward function to this extent to your partner, isn‘t it just a matter of time, till it clashes between the the couple?
Either one accepts and aligns oneself to the critic or plainly disregards the suggested course correction.
I guess criticism works if the reward functions are well aligned, orherwise it bears resentment.

@Aella_Girl I think the counterpoint to your initial claim is: No centralized group of people –no matter how intelligent or rational– can effectively steer a complex, self-organizing, adaptive system like a civilization.
