I bought fuel yesterday in Toronto, Canada, at $1.7999 CAD per litre, and it cost about $98.95 CAD to fill up my tank. This should ideally last me about a week or more.
Now, the minimum wage in Canada is $17.95 CAD per hour, which means someone who works an average of 8 hours a day will earn $143.60 CAD before tax. A day's salary is enough to fuel his or her car for 2–3 weeks. This means that even one of the lowest earners in Canada can afford to own and drive a car daily without the cost of fuel becoming an overwhelming burden. Public education for children is also free and of high quality.
In Nigeria, fuel is about ₦1,300 per litre. It would cost about ₦88,000 to fill up a similar tank. The minimum wage in Nigeria is ₦70,000 per month. This means that an entire month's minimum wage cannot even fill the tank once.
A minimum-wage earner in Nigeria cannot realistically afford to own, fuel, and maintain a car. The same person still has to afford food, rent, children's education, healthcare, electricity, transportation, and other basic necessities. The list goes on.
In fact, even a bank manager in Nigeria earning ₦1 million monthly could still struggle to maintain a decent standard of living after covering these basic expenses.
This is one reason poverty is so widespread in Nigeria. The cost of basic living is simply too high relative to what the average person earns.
You don't just have an income problem in Nigeria. You have an affordability problem.
For millions of Nigerians, simply living a decent life has become too expensive and increasingly impossible.
You have to intentionally harden your heart not to be melted by this ISOKO guy’s video on why Igbos should be respected. If a non-Igbo has this much knowledge of the goings on in Nigeria, no true Igbo blood should have an excuse.
Please share till every tribe in Nigeria gets to see it.
The renaissance has truly begun 🔥
Mr Professor, you left the classroom for Apex Bank and, within months, bought a multi-million-pound property in London. Congratulations.
The issue? You now seek to rival a man who purchased his London home in 1996—long before holding public office.
He built his wealth through verifiable investments; you amassed yours through "Nzama."
So, what are you vying for? To be a role model for the younger generation?
Should my generation follow a leader who:
• Publicly claimed Anambra didn't need two airports, then secretly used scarce state resources to build one?
• Promised roads built to last 20 years, only for them to fall apart in less than two?
• Invested over ₦12bn into a flyover promised for December 2025, pushed to August 2026, which remains unusable today?
• Stayed silent when ₦100m was transferred from state funds to the IGP's son's account—distracting us with photo-ops instead?
• Established the ANSIDIP (ADIC) agency to control up to ₦200bn in funds, yet refuses to appoint a Governing Board to oversee it?
Why should anyone allow you to mentor them? Following your blueprint leads straight down the path of 2 Peter 2:15—waste, ruin, and destruction.
I have plenty more to say this Sunday afternoon, but I’ll save the rest for later.
If no one else dares call it like it is, you know I will: You aren't just a failure; you're a tragedy our state should never have endured.

“As of 1980, China had more poor people than Nigeria.” What changed? 🤦🏾♂️
I sat with one of the MOST intelligent men in Nigeria, Dr Emeka Obiaraeri, on the Emir Sirdam Show.
Watch and thank me later 👋
Nigeria has no business with poverty with brains like this!
Today, *Lawyers for Civil Liberties* filed a Freedom of Information application before the *Attorney-General of Federation* and the *Minister of Solid Minerals Development*, requesting for details of the recent Nigeria - United States of America's 700 billion dollar Critical Minerals Framework Agreement / Memorandum of Understanding.
