@RyanGarciaESM I don’t understand why Hal does this every single year. It’s like he gets enjoyment out of building 90% of a winning team. Lost 2 pen arms in the off-season and went with hopes and prayers as the answer.
@YankeeSource Going internal with this hiring makes me wonder why they had to lose deals with highly regarded talent and why the process took so long to make a decision?
@YankeesFiles I think he would have gotten 25m over 3 years had he rejected. Easily the best move of the off-season for the Yankees. Very glad he accepted.
@Srechter7 Due to his salary, he was the only guy I thought it was possible that they’d add. Can’t see them signing any of the remaining free agent arms.
@RyanGarciaESM I just don’t know who else they could add. Freddy felt like the only guy that made sense given the low salary. I can’t see them signing a meh starter to 10m+. Roster might be done and they didn’t really address the biggest need. Very bad off-season, again.
@GreenfieldMax18 This feels like a lose-lose situation for the Yankees. Either they sign an underwater contract for a non-elite player, or they go into 2026 as a much worse team than 2025. Just wish his decision would come already.
@FiresideYankees They’ve passed on so many much better free agents in the Judge era, including when he was making league minimum. But now Bellinger is the guy they’re going above and beyond for, this is exactly why they don’t with anything anymore. This will be the new worst contract in baseball.
@GreenfieldMax18 If they trade for Cabrera without giving up Dominguez/Jones, I wonder what happens to them? Neither strike me as an ideal 4th OFer, I would think they’d like a righty for that.
