And guess who's the primary implementing agency for SB 254? Gavin's five appointed friends on the California Public Utilities Commission, the CPUC.”

I have spoken this morning with multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation. Here are the facts:

The closure of I-5 was ordered by Gavin Newsom. It was not requested by the White House, Secret Service, the Department of War, the Marine Corps, Camp Pendleton, or anyone connected with today's events.
Gavin Newsom's claim that "live munitions" were to be fired "over the I-5 freeway" is a lie.
That was never the plan. Camp Pendleton has been there for over 80 years. Live munitions are used every day. There has never been any need to close the freeway.

This is a despicable political stunt from a governor drunk on attention for his pathetic social media trolling of President Trump. But now he has gone too far - disrupting the lives of millions of Californians purely to fluff up his own presidential ambitions. Abusing his power for personal gain, even as he lectures us about authoritarianism in the 'No Kings' protests. This is a massive scandal. It is Gavin Newsom's 'Bridgegate.' 

We cannot go on like this. I will restore seriousness and integrity to the office of California governor. I will order a full investigation into Newsom's “I-5-gate." And make sure that he is held accountable for this outrageous and cruel attack on millions of Southern Californians.
