@samperifi @TallbarFIN I feel like my point still stands though. Finland lost a chunk of territory. Which is a fault of Soviet Union. Doesn't make it a force of evil in WWII though, when it, arguably, turned the tides for the entire war.

@samperifi @TallbarFIN I guess in my understanding WWII started with formation of Allies/Axis, i.e. when France declared war on Germany, whereas Finland and USSR weren't part of any camp yet at 1939. Correct me if I'm wrong.
And yes, I didn't know much about that particular genocide, thank you for that

@samperifi @TallbarFIN Not to mention actual Axis members (Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan) actually commiting 3 separate genocides (Holocaust, Generalplan Ost, and Nanjing Massacre). Doesn't sound like a good safeplace from genocide specifically.

@samperifi @TallbarFIN That's fair, Soviet was definitely the agressor during Winter War. Not in WWII though.

Threat of genocide sounds convincing in retrospect, knowing later Soviet history, but at the time, all that was under threat were chunks of Finnish land, which Finland ended up losing anyway.
