MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: Mattel's first (though certainly not last) Marvel movie is a colorful toy-smasher that's unyieldingly frivolous and empty-headed in its ideas about positive masculinity. And the weird thing? Leto's kinda great as Skeletor.
My review:
If only SPIDER-NOIR dared the same strange, belligerent corners of the genre as its nervy lead, this middling Marvel effort might have been the stuff dreams are… ah, you get it.

I realize I’m still relatively new to the Chicago Critics Film Festival, but is it possible this is its friskiest fest on record? My thoughts on this year’s spicy offerings:
"Visual Vengeance's release looks and sounds as good as Highway to Hell ever will or perhaps should, a happy ending for a movie that, for folks who don’t scrounge around for movies like Highway to Hell, has long been easy to overlook." https://t.co/XnDjyLR6ij
The saga of Red Sonja might not be particularly thrilling, but we won't deny that its silliness is fun.
