Today I was in court because the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) sought a restraining order against me. My "threat" was peacefully protesting and demanding answers.

I asked a simple question: Where is the forensic audit?

Chicago taxpayers continue to pay more in property taxes, and CPS continues to receive significant funding, yet far too many of our children are still not proficient in reading, math, and writing. Parents and taxpayers deserve transparency, accountability, and honest answers about why our educational system continues to fail so many students.

I will never stop speaking up for taxpayers, parents, and the citizens of Chicago. If they can silence one citizen for asking questions, they can silence all of us. I refuse to let that happen.

As Mayor, I will implement a comprehensive education platform focused on transparency, accountability, and results. My administration will conduct independent forensic audits of CPS finances, ensure every dollar is spent effectively in the classroom, and hold leadership accountable for student outcomes.
We will implement school choice. I will prioritize early literacy, expand access to high-quality tutoring and after-school programs, support and retain excellent teachers, and ensure safe, well-resourced schools in every neighborhood. We will also strengthen partnerships with parents and communities, because education works best when families are empowered and informed.
My goal is simple, every child in Chicago will have the tools, support, and opportunity to succeed.

Downstate Illinois is done being ruled by Chicago and Cook County.

33 counties have already voted to explore breaking away from the state, and 7 more will vote this November.

They are sick of policies dictated by one region while the rest of Illinois gets ignored.

Over 100,000 residents have already fled since @JBPritzker took office.

Even Indiana is now looking to absorb some of these counties.

Pritzker’s solution? Get up and move if you do not like it here.

Happy Illinois Pothole Appreciation Day!

Starting today, Gov. Pritzker is raiding $860M/year from the Road Fund to bail out the CTA, a system he and Mayor Brandon Johnson helped drive into the ground.

Every year, forever into the future, funds will be diverted from gas sales taxes into CTA and mass transit.

This means:

More potholes.
Roads and bridges crumble.
Tolls rise.
Sales taxes rise.
Gas taxes climb.
Chicago transit gets bailed out.

To be clear, this now diverted money comes from the state sales tax on gasoline. Something 40+ states don’t even have.

Now road money is being diverted to cover failures at the CTA: crime, disorder, fare evasion, unreliable service, and years of insider mismanagement.

A recent Cook County Sheriffs report found fare evasion is rampant, with estimates suggesting 80–90% of riders on certain routes aren’t paying.

Even CTA's own patrons don't respect the organization.

What are we doing? Why has no one been fired?

Larry Barclay has been CTA board president since 2021.
Nora Leerhsen has been Chief of Staff since 2018 and is now President of the CTA.

They are both just as responsible for the financial meltdown at the CTA as Gov. Pritzker and Mayor Johnson, and have been feckless in fixing the problem responsibly.

Here's what we need to do.

Fire Leerhsen
Fire Barclay
Fire Pritzker
Fire Johnson

Repeal the CTA bailout and force them to clean up their own mess responsibly.
Eliminate the Sales Tax Hike.
Eliminate the Toll Hike.
Keep motorist taxes & fees focused on the roads.

In Pritzker's Illinois, fare jumpers get rewarded, irresponsible politicians get bailouts, CTA administrators get raises, and taxpayers get more potholes and higher taxes.

The CTA scandal is a disgrace to our state.
