You know why? Biggest factor to this is because fans nowadays are sensitive. Idol not talking is considered rude. Idol talking too much is annoying. Eating too little is pretentious. Eating too much is excessive. Dancing hard is trying too hard. Hitting high notes is boastful.
Blade Runner 2099 is going to play out in this exact, predictable sequence. First, it was greenlit purely because executives think the chuds who like the OG and/or 2049 enjoyed them for the wrong reasons.
The chuds say they're skipping this trash.
The shitlibs cheer and say, "Good, you were never real fans," yet they won't bother tuning in to 2099 either.
2099 will tank miserably.
The entire Blade Runner franchise will get locked in a vault for the next two decades.
Shitlibs will point the finger at Amazon, stubbornly denying the reality that literally nobody, including themselves, actually wants to watch preachy slop engineered just for them.
They didn’t get into this fandom because they actually like it or enjoy it—they just use it as a fashion accessory. And they’re bullies wherever they go.
I don't get the point of being in fan spaces just to stir drama and hate. Being in fandoms is about having fun, enjoying & forgetting for a while about real life problems. If you can't get that and just bring toxic behaviour to places that are supposed to "heal", just go to hell
Lily Rose Depp: *Posts a sweet IG message about supporting her father*
AH stans: *Bully her with nasty comments*
Lily Rose Depp: *Removes post* (probably her father saying it's not worth the harassment, knowing she supports him is enough)
AH stans: *ShE sUpPoRtS AmBeR hEaRd*

She admitted to lying about being abused but 4 years later y'all still talking as if she was a victim. At this point it's purposely being ignorant to the evidence just to hate on a man because he's male.
I've just learnt, while the boys are reading Malfoid rn, the girls were reading fanfic about Draco graping a mindwiped Hermione in a Handmaid's Tale repopulation program and it was republished as a legally distinct dark romantasy called "Alchemised" that sold over a mil last year
No one hated Sam Wilson when he was Falcon. He was the voice of reason, honest, and stuck to his morals. He was a true hero that should have been allowed to grow in his mantle.
If you want the truth, the writers turned him into a completely jackass after Steve gave him the shield. First he tried dumping it on the Smithsonian, then was a jerk to Bucky who was going throw an adjustment period and lost his only friend, then treated John like a villain despite it being obvious John had serious PTSD issues and Sam use to council former military personal who dealt with it, then there was the lecture how terrorist had ever right to kill innocent people, and now he is mad Bucky has a Avenger team so he is suing.
Personally, I like who Sam was when he was Falcon better.
We did know it. We knew, at the time, we were living in an extraordinary decade. We had the luxury of the 60s, 70s, and 80s to inspire us to create it.
We thought each decade would get together better. We were full of hope.
What we never realised is that 26 years later, we would be living in the dystopian nightmare of all the films we had been watching.
do you know how utterly soul-destroying it is to see old pieces of text written by you with the full understanding that you will never be able to write that way again. you simply cannot string sentences together in the same manner. your lexicon has shrunk. your brain is fried
