An awesome weekend trip to the #EcoEvo Symposium in Squamish yesterday- full of salmon, bears and interesting conversation! Dr. Speller gave the closing talk “Digging for Biodiversity: the power of archaeological archives for reconstructing past environments and ecosystems” 🐟🐻
Last week I passed my North American Banding Council (NABC) Trainer Exam!
I presented on how to age birds using the Wolfe-Ryder Pyle (WRP) ageing system, taught field skills to participants, and (after becoming a trainer) helped to test other participants for certification.
Our @TRBO_belize bird banding internship is well underway! This week, we discussed molt strategies of migrant and resident birds.
In the field, we were lucky to catch this Lesson’s Motmot just before it bounced out of the net (for the second time!).
Looking forward to teaching another bird banding internship this fall at @TRBO_belize!
During spring banding we caught the station's first Mayan Antthrush in the net. What's next??
