If anyone's wondering why the Showgrounds' doors are black, seems like a Gmod update changed something about the point that models get their light data from. Can't promise that I'll get to fixing it but I suspect recompiling the models with a higher $illumposition might fix it.
Almost 4 years later, I've learned so much on the job not only about 3D and tech art but also about myself. It was the perfect environment for me to tinker and learn. I hope all you SMG4 fans enjoy the Gmod models I've worked on for years to come :)
Forever grateful for the opportunity to have worked on SMG4. I literally got into 3D art initially because I wanted to make SMG4 fanart. Joining the SMG4/Glitch crew was a massive full circle moment for me that came way sooner than I ever expected it would.
@Rurukat@zephyrianna I recall seeing a video where someone did freq response analysis to create an EQ curve that made an SM57 sound almost identical to an SM7B. They share similar mic capsules to begin with.
@zephyrianna Def important to get it right at the source vs. relying on processing, but its possible with cheaper mics too. One time I recorded vocals with a LDC mic thinking it would sound best but it refused to sit in the mix. Pulled out the trusty SM57 and that somehow worked like magic.
@nocontextmemes I went from Chrome to Edge and I'm happy. Heck I even use Edge on my Mac ๐ Edge is essentially the same as Chrome under the hood but lighter and syncs with your MS account instead of Google. You can install Chrome extensions and Chrome themes.
