@GraceRandolph Im surprised i havent seen more on the fact that having a trans actor fill the role would possibly put a target on them in South Korea and make them a target for harassment and violence. Id rather the character be portrayed well and makes strides than put trans people at risk.
@feliciajbol Doesnt even need to be racially motivated to be unwarranted. Angela is unhinged and this poor me im just a sweet granny act is bs. She has a mean streak in her that should have had her ass gone week 2.
@kimyman2 @donsmymo@cosmic_marvel The way Strange and Wong refer to Wong’s ascent to SS in Spiderman No Way Home as Strange losing it to Wong as a technicality implies he was. But sure.
@kimyman2 @donsmymo@cosmic_marvel Wong: “Earth has no Sorcerer Supreme to defend it. We must be ready.”
Strange: “We’ll be ready”, followed by a dramatic walk toward a dramatic window. The implication being that he will take up the mantle.
Wong also does not proclaim himsef SS so you proved yourself wrong? Lol
@kimyman2 @donsmymo@cosmic_marvel Wong isnt Sorcerer Supreme until after Infinity War when Strange disappears. Strange becomes Sorcerer Supreme at the end of his first movie, which he lead. What are on about?? Lol
@LeonXIII@boxofwolves@GraceRandolph The writing isnt bad, at worst i think it’s meh. To me some of the editing and directing is not good but overall its been enjoyable. Except episode 4, that one was a snooze until the very end.
@cindymarin64@GraceRandolph Ok but flashbacks exist. And its a bit silly to tune into an 8 episode series for one character. Like folks have got to stop being so narrow minded. One thing wrong and people hate something i mean grow up a bit.
@OmarEzh@GraceRandolph If i’m watching a movie and at any time and think, “This guy’s definitely about to die” then that’s predictable. And Deadpool nailed its tone and humor. TSS was all scattered, with mostly shrug inducing comedy and again its weird obsession with clumsily conveying its “message”.
@OmarEzh@GraceRandolph Re: messaging, the whole Rat Catcher 1 end scene was cheesy, bordering on silly, and in direct contrast to how the film treats the “everymen” as Grace points out in her review. And there is a very strange “Won’t somebody think of the children” point that is super heavy handed.
@OmarEzh@GraceRandolph The telegraphing on the deaths was a bummer, especially since it follows the other SS in that, after the initial deaths no more occur until the end, the last one being the most predictable due to the very direct framing of the shot in which he dies.
@OmarEzh@GraceRandolph This is such a silly take. The movie has some solid issues. Beyond the sensitive material, it somehow manages to be very bland, reeks of over editing, has ham fisted messaging and is incredibly predictable. You cant chalk up all the criticism to just folks being sensitive”.
@Burbankbigots@PePeLop00564012@ING Then I’m not sure why you kee trying to use the playbook. If it spews hate like a het, talks like a cis and walks like a lib... But keep pretending to fight the good fight while using bigotry as one of your weapons. Real helpful.
@Burbankbigots@PePeLop00564012@ING Uh huh. And you simp for using us as your pretend pulpit so the cis het libs can pretend to care for us without doing any actual work to help. No, you just stir the pot and act like trash online and use us as your excuse and it’s gross. Go do some actual work to help us maybe?
@TeufelWolf666@CAbookGEEK@Burbankbigots@ClintMilby Yep, pays real well to be shot on by conservatives and liberals. I’m living the high life off that hot denigration money 🙄 Y’all aren’t allies, you’re just in it to work out your frustrations, i.e. personal validation. But keep pretending you’re in the right while degrading us
