@BennyBondestino@99_opinions@sw_holocron Precisely, she already had editing experience, and given Star Wars' tight budget, she was an obvious choice to help edit some of its highly complex sequences.
@GarrettTheQ@CH4R10T_TV I am quite aware of that lol, but he was playing a Jedi. Jedi are not known for being loud, rambunctious, and saying MOTHERFUCKER.
@BennyBondestino@99_opinions@sw_holocron She was a great ally to Lucas in crafting THX, Graffiti, and Star Wars. However, I agree that her contribution to Star Wars is often overstated. She was arguably the least important of the four editors (besides the one who was fired), as she left early to edit New York, New York.
@FilmaticFury@sw_holocron This argument is pointless because George wasn't making the prequels only for children. Why else include the "boring" Senate scenes? He's saying that instead of making a retro movie, Lucas made something new, knowing OT fans would hate it because they just wanted the OT again.
@99_opinions@BennyBondestino@sw_holocron Every film he directed except for his first was financially successful. Or is your definition of the word "hit" different from mine?
It's a Yoda plushie and Boba Fett cosplay but if you change the names certain people will think they're new characters, kind of like how if you hide your face behind your hands a baby will think you really disappeared
@GregoryWBronson@DarthGrando@mightydudbolt For AOTC, Lucas even filmed a scene where Obi-Wan has Jedi analysis droids attempt to identify the Kamino dart. This despite dialogue already making clear that the droids failed to identify it. Lucas removed the scene as redundant, yet fans still complain it isn’t obvious enough.
