Chinette Gallichan was a lawyer in mining giant, Sibanye-Stillwater’s labour litigation department. She was involved in several cases relating to wage payments and unfair dismissals.

On the day she was killed, she was representing retrenched workers who were seeking compensation from a mining firm.

Gallichan had graduated with a law degree from the University of South Africa and a postgraduate diploma in labour law with distinction from the University of Johannesburg.
