Recently, I had the privilege of being on a panel discussion with over 500 HR professionals in attendance on the critical topic of burnout. One thing’s for sure…even now, people don’t recognize the difference between disengagement and burnout.
Leaders who practice EI foster a positive work environment by understanding and addressing the emotional needs of their team members. This leads to higher levels of trust, collaboration, and morale.
Burnout and disengagement are not the same. At first blush they may look similar to the untrained eye but the impact and causations are indeed different.
The significance of fostering a sense of belonging and connection within teams, can counteract feelings of isolation. Therefore, having a community at work is important.
No one ever became #phenomenal without help.
Having someone in your corner who has experienced what you’re trying to do and can lead you on the right track to being the best leader possible is so important. Seeing someone do something you want to do can be so inspiring.
Technical skills and strategic thinking are essential, but it’s emotional intelligence that can truly transform executive leadership and drive organizational excellence.
Leadership training exposes gaps between management & their team. Maybe the team's goals aren't aligned with the company. Or maybe the manager doesn't understand what ACTUALLY motivates their team.
June 19th reminds me that I am the force of power to change this world and to follow in the footsteps of my ancestors to work toward liberation.
