It's crazy how #XMen97 did more justice to Apocalypse, Kang the Conqueror and the Celestial in no fewer than 2 episodes than the MCU or Fox X-Men movies ever did.
I don’t feel that I’m being dramatic when I say Season 2, Episode 4 is probably one of the best of the series thus far, an origin story adapted and handled with care and respect for the character and a deeper understanding of his “Survival of the Fittest” philosophy. They did more in TWO EPISODES than FOX did in one film. This wasn’t comparable to the Genosha episode the way people claimed but this held its own emotional weight and intensity. No matter how much you try to change fate, no matter how much you try to bring out the better humane qualities, all roads will lead to Apocalypse. A orphan. A slave. A liberator. A conquerer. He’ll come in many forms but he will always be. Ending the episode in Magneto’s own words was very poetic indeed. Stellar fckin writing! 🤌🏾 #XMen97
my favourite thing is how albums like Erotica and Bedtime Stories were perhaps not received as well as her other work at the time, but have retrospectively been acclaimed for their quality and influence. In hindsight, her run of excellent albums is even more impressive
Madonna lost her best friend to the AIDS crisis, and she continues to keep his memory alive in her latest album’s standout track.
