We might have tackled the Copy Protection for „Captain Comic II“ by Michael Denio.
Our Crack still needs some testing but stay tuned. Michael, if you read this, say Hello! 👍
Release is being kept internal for now, as „Battles of Destiny“ is still being sold by the devs, but man, this was a fun one.
We believe we have patched out all the hidden traps in this one. Still requires some longtime testing though.
Whoever wrote the Copy Protection Mechanism for „Battles of Destiny“ was a sick individual.
I‘m just kidding, but its designed very well. Few know what I‘m talking abt.
The continuous investment by gamers into shiny objects, and creators specializing in hottakes may result in a world where politicians and corporations can still outflank and outmaneuver us, and win. Look at the evolution of @Sargon_of_Akkad. He traded gamer critic clout for IRL /Pol/ clout. Real question: What's changed given his involvement?
Any respect for Carl^ Jdawg has on a personal level aside, practically assessing his career, I believe there have been more effective, are more effective Gamer Advocates, for one. And politicians [personal effectiveness, not policy commentary] for another. But it is not our object to involve ourselves there. Nope. It's a factual observation. Disagree below, please. Wish it could be said otherwise!
So all around, in spite of the mad decent memes that are made and some good work rallying, up to a point... That is just before they start pillorying and jailing us for use of our native tongue: Gamerspeak! Replete with profanity and shade (and sometimes insults too!) That's coming, as it stands! If gamers don't actually rise up in outstanding numbers, these phony baloney 'safety' and 'security' measures will do everything to erode our free [-dom] and fair access to our own safe and fun spaces on terms we understand them.
That's not what gamers want. But what we want sometimes requires more than a series of short-stop efforts to effectively pursue, actually! Zerg rushes are rarely an optimal strategy. That and the occasional mech-style tag-team approaches (we'll say when big-name creators get involved) are just not going to satisfactorily address the threats facing gamers optically, economically, politically or practically on an ongoing basis!
That's why you need GBAMFS!
Sometimes you need a higher degree of coordination. Or additional pylons. At least a degree of corporate-level involvement, basically, as the type of dawg (if you will,) in the fight! A group of gamers who are willing to COMMIT ACTS OF SCHOLARSHIP, ENGAGEMENT, AND TO GET RESULTS ON GAMERS' BEHALF!!!
OH YEAH! That !, whoa...
You can give feedback, but companies don't like mobs. It's a fact. They want to engage with knowledgeable, flexible, and willing partners. Ones that they can count on to be able to understand their point of view and communicate it back, internally / and among members in a direct-comms scenario. Or to keep confidence on topics that aren't ready for public dissemination or discussion yet.
You can't swear a mob to an NDA. You can't very well instruct a crowd of random, maybe upset people who HAPPEN to be gamers on the realities of dev life or why your studio runs the way it does. Maybe *you* don't want to,.. but many gamers may want to know! You may ask "well why not just leave it all out in the open and just act personally..."
Because they aren't responding to your shouted criticisms or boycott moves. Their responses are reflexive in nature, at best. Companies, like individual people, respond to distinct voices. To unique viewpoints they're capable of grasping. You can influence crude changes of direction, temporarily, at best, trying to approach game industry reform as many in Gamergate 1 & 2 have.
You will win many discrete battles. A successful campaign, however, requires long-term thinking, long-term planning, and coherent perspective to prosecute effectively to a good conclusion. It's time to face the fact that the many (some awesome) creators in this space do not have the strategic mindset or organizational acumen to deliver what gamers need!
You can Zerg out on your own, score cheap wins from time to time, but eventually you hit a wall with that approach. You can notch it up, and do teamwork with creators and industry figures (sometimes to spite their goofy asses, like PirateSW, lol,) ... but at the end of the day, gamers need a fixture; a foundation, a hall, where their voices can be consistently heard. To be able to assemble, and from where that voice can be articulated from within. That's GBAMFS!
They can gaslight y'all out in public. They don't gaslight Jdawg too easily, though! Companies can only ignore us so long as most gamers stick to soloplaying, Battle Royale-style versus multinational behemoths. If that sounds like a dumb and ignorant approach to you: Guess what? It's because it is! With your support, our work will gain needed standing with companies!
That many of you choose to select me, and our team, to advocate on gamers behalf, and prompt action in industry following that direction will show an important decision-point has been reached! No more "fun and games," as Neil Druckmann might put it. No, gamers are serious enough to suit up, and be our own media, advocates, communications agents, and even form an agency for that purpose! A Gamer Bureau! —GBAMFS!
It's not just Jdawg fixing his own customer service situation or technical issue with them. You're asking me to help you fix all of yours! That's what I'm here for! That's what we can do together, and that's just the basics. For-profit companies traditionally respond well to customers who know what they want and know how to express it well! I've been that customer my whole life. My suggestions more often than not get implemented or find their way into products they're applied to.
I don't need to know everything about the gaming industry. It's BETTER I didn't start there. I'm not your average gamer, either, but I understand each of you pretty well. I live the life and have since I was a short-stack. There is no doubt where my loyalties lay, and it won't be swayed by industry honey-talk.
And I'm not alone, but we need resources none of us have individually. We're there as a ready aid to companies, after we are, first, to ourselves. It's gamers helping gamers helping industry figure out how to best serve us and profit from it. We'll oversee a reform that on our own, none of us can demand from large enterprises, or affect policy on regulating them.
We will do it together, and avoid misunderstandings, misrepresentation, and mistakes that have been visited in the past, and continue to be made in the present. By Gamers ready for change and willing to act on it, but not led or organized in a way that proves effective in seeing the changes we want made happen. We will get it right like others, including the ACLU, Screen Actors' Guild, and NRA have gotten it right.
By demonstrating wisdom, strength, and solidarity! This should be natural for us, ... (see graphics)
GBAMFS is a gamer-carrier organization. IT is literally a means for us to boost ourselves, and concentrate our firepower with increased precision (so to speak.) To shield what we need to in terms of preventing abuse and malignment of gamers.. and work in a very dedicated fashion, with discipline, and getting results!
While not every gamer wants to take a Protoss-style approach, we will be there to do that—and stay ready where you need us! Companies and governments may not yet respect gamers' power. With our fleet complimenting your own strength, they will definitely come to, though!
Likely without shots fired 😌— they just need to understand gamers are really that serious! ⬆️✊✊
