DoSomething has also confirmed no disciplinary action will be taken against staffers that walked out. All 24 of us will be returning to work tomorrow morning. #DoSomethingDidSomething
The #DSWalkout has ended. We will be sharing news of what we achieved soon! For now, we are excited to get back to serving our organization’s mission and continuing to make DoSomething an anti-racist organization.
It's now been 6 days since 24 @dosomething staffers walked out to demand @ariairene step down as CEO. We're committed to continue fighting each and every day for an org that actually lives the anti-racist values it preaches. #DoSomethingDidNothing#DSWalkout
#DSWalkout just proactively filed an Unfair Labor Practice Charge against @dosomething with the @nlrb. We won’t let them jeopardize or discourage our rights as workers by weaponizing unlawful employee handbook language. We’re serious about making our voices heard.
It’s been 5 days since the @dosomething staff walked out to demand @ariairene step down as CEO. The 24 of us are heading into the weekend feeling empowered and 5 days closer to a better vision of DS. #DSWalkout#DoSomethingDidNothing
In just one day, our petition calling for the resignation of @ariairene as CEO of @dosomething has reached 400 signatures. Let’s keep the momentum going & continue demanding transformative change from the top down. #DSWalkout#DoSomethingDidNothing https://t.co/dynMhar8K5
Our vision for a more equitable and empowering @dosomething starts with the resignation of @ariairene and the denunciation of the harm caused during her tenure. #DSWalkout#DoSomethingDidNothing https://t.co/dynMhar8K5
In June, the @dosomething board launched an investigation into the org’s leadership and culture. The results were instrumental in the board’s decision to maintain @ariairene as CEO. Here’s why we feel there’s more to the story. #DSWalkout#DoSomethingDidNothing
We don’t feel that this investigation can be considered conclusive (though even in its limited scope, it did find issues re: “professionalism, staffing, and inclusion”), and it certainly shouldn’t be used to justify @ariairene’s continued leadership.
Amid accusations of racial abuse and toxic work culture at the tech non-profit DoSomething, twenty-four employees began a work stoppage on Tuesday, saying they will not resume work until CEO Aria Finger resigns. https://t.co/74t34qgdCg
The amount of courage & strength it takes for these @dosomething staffers to risk their income in the midst of a pandemic, speaks volumes to how these injustices have gone on for too. damn. long.
They wouldn't be doing this if they had another choice.
#DSWalkout
So proud of @dosomething staff. @dosomethingEQ, keep your foot on their necks. The toxicity of DoSomething almost killed me (literally). No one should have to experience what many of us were left victim to. Until Aria resigns, this abuse will continue.

We’ve now entered Day 4 of all 24 @dosomething staffers walking out to fight for our mission. To leadership: you cannot wait us out. We need a workplace that values its BIPOC workers and that starts with CEO Aria Finger’s resignation. #DoSomethingDidNothing#DSWalkout
Metrics and external image shouldn't come before staff safety and wellbeing. We deserve an empowering, equitable workplace where expectations are appropriate, staff is supported, and the right kind of work is prioritized.
100% of the business development team, 100% of the campaign creation team, 100% of the marketing team, and all but 1 member of the campaigns team are represented in our walkout (non-exec staff). That’s because we understand how the sausage gets made.
