FREE DR. MIRIA KOBURUNGA MATEMBE.
I find it difficult to understand how anyone can proudly support a regime that silences dissent, disregards the rule of law, and violates the fundamental rights and dignity of its own people. How did we get to a point where such actions are defended instead of condemned? Why is parliament so silent about whatβs going on in the country? Itβs not business usual you elite thieves!!!!
Uganda belongs to all of us. A small group with a herd mentality should stop intimidating, abducting, torturing, unlawfully imprisoning, and killing innocent Ugandans simply for expressing a different opinion.
The trucks βbelongβ to the Keshwala family, who are devoted followers of Khodiyar Maa, the Hindu goddess.
In reality, Jay Khodiyar Maa serves as a front, a subsidiary of the secret business empire run by βGulu Uncle,β with the Keshwalas acting as his proxies.
A telling incident in the 2010s in Ibanda District showed just how powerful that network was. Deo Isungisa, then the Officer in Charge (OC) of Traffic at Ibanda Central Police Station, pulled over one of the Jay Khodiyar Maa trucks on the pretext of an old tyre. When the driver told him he was only a driver and that he should speak to the boss on phone, the arrogant Isungisa refused.
The driver then received a call from the boss, who calmly instructed him and the conductor to board any available vehicle, go on a five-day leave, leave the truck running, and head back to Mbarara. The driver and conductor obeyed immediately and left the truck there.
About ten minutes later, the βbig manβ himself called Isungisa. The moment the boss introduced himself, Isungisaβs confidence collapsed. He began apologising profusely. The big man then gave him a clear condition: βIn your capacity, you will find a way to supply the merchandise to all the people I supply in Ibanda, Kamwenge, and Kazo, and you will return the truck to Jinja. The invoice book and receipt book is there, use common sense.β
Isungisa replied without hesitation, βYes boss,β and complied fully, even enlisting his junior officers to help him βkowtow.β He later offered even more apologies once the task was completed. Not long afterwards, he was transferred out of Ibanda CPS.
Isungisa had been well known as the most arrogant traffic officer in the area. He never took bribes at any point during his tenure and feared no one. He once stopped a vehicle that belonged to former PGB (now SFC) abracadabra drunkard September George who was Kainerugabaβs watchdog in the days of PGB, and on that day, he was in company of Emmanuel Kafunuza(if you come from Ibanda, you know this Nyabuhikye zeyi ), and nearly got shot dead along the Kazo road. He truly believed he was untouchable until he crossed the Jay Khodiyar Maa truck. ππ’
