So apparently a medtech patent i worked on at a previous company got completed and I was given credit as a co-creator. That’s now the latest feather in my cap alongside that whole Black Mesa situation back in 2020 and the satellite work being done now. Crazy times, crazy life
@realMattKParker Can't remember where but I read once that Henry James writes in a style so narrow that thoughts can't get through. Wings of the Dove was great when I read it but his style can feel like squirming your way through a cave system.
i do find this very moving, and think it’s probably useful to remember that while readers of challenging and adult books have declined significantly, there are still thousands of people out there who care about literature and take it seriously
Every year on my family retreat to Occidental, we give informal talks to eachother and this year my topic will be Finnegan's Wake. Excited to finally rant about this piece again, it's genuinely been life-changing for me.
Anyone who suggests mandatory real identity internet legislation is an Orwellian tyrant that should never hold political office ever again. Surveillance state is an understatement, this is world order panopticon overreach. This is my single-issue subject.
@Studio_Kerosene@skullvolver This is an insanely cool project that I have extremely high hopes for. Best of luck to the team with their upcoming launch!
We are proud to announce our first game: FIRESTARTERS.
Kerosene's debut Action FPS will be showcased during Steam Next Fest this February.
Don't miss the world premiere of the Announcement Trailer and the launch of the Steam page, streaming live tomorrow on @skullvolver!
@maxdaniellawton Speaking of free lectures on Finnegan's Wake, Gavin Young's youtube channel has some great content on that subject and it's so good that it got me to read that this year. Maybe you'll find it interesting too.
And that's it.
More will come in the last few days of the year. It's been a long year of bus commuting. For 6 months this year, I was commuting in the range of 3 to 4 hours per day for multiple days a week. Then there's time to read before bed, and on the weekends. It adds up.
As many of you know, reading is my primary hobby. This is what I've read this year.
