sometimes in life you get more than what you deserve (job that you’re underqualified for, gf that is too hot, Sharpe that is too high etc), it’s important for you to get good to be deserving of them before the market catches up & corrects itself

i used to find this incredibly funny too. but in a world where we’re constantly overwhelmed by choices, lifting is refreshingly drudging. barbell go up barbell come down. modern humans crave the monotony sisyphus was punished with.
you literally dont have to do anything. just show up 3-4x a week for the first 3 months. it’s automatic. i used to hate going to the gym, as i got better at the movements and started to move significant (for me at least) weight it became enjoyable.
