Hey #FreePalestine folks, since you care so much about the Palestinians and how Israel has been oppressing them for so long, mind clearing up some things for me?

I am just not very knowledgeable about this so I’d appreciate some help.

- Who was the prime minister of the Arab Palestinian state before Israel was established in 1948?

- What was the national anthem?

- Was there any Arab terror against Jews before this occupation you speak of? In fact, was there Arab terror against Jews before Israel was even established?

- How did Israel occupy Gaza since 2005? Did Jews live in Gaza or did Israel evacuate it completely?

- What do you want to free Palestine from?

- Any thoughts about Egypt or Jordan taking in Palestinians? Why not?

- How did Hamas become the ruling government in Gaza? Who voted for them?

- When the terrorist Yasser Arafat established the PLO, what was his declared objective? Have you read the charter? Why not?

- Do the Palestinians want a state? If so, have they had a chance to have one? How did they respond?

Just some basic questions. Ya know since you’re marching in the streets, yelling free Palestine.

Also, what does “From the river to the sea” mean? Go grab a map. It means no Israel. We cool with wiping Israel off the map and killing all Israelis?

If you have a viable plan for how to do that with Hamas in power, go ahead. Your tweet is very ill-informed. Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, dismantled all army bases, and forcibly evacuated all settlers. Hamas staged a coup d'état against the PA, and instead of turning Gaza into a 'Singapore of sorts'—which was Israel's aim—they used it to further their fundamentalist and violent agenda. This included turning Gaza into a massive base for launching missiles against Israel periodically. Over the past three years, Israel has not only encouraged business relations with the Israeli economy, traders coming in and out (this has been happening for a decade or so), but also allowed Gazan workers to work daily in Israel. It steadily increased their numbers to dozens of thousands, understanding the basic logic you presented. Hamas essentially told Israel it's moving towards improving people's lives and away from "the struggle", i.e., annihilating Israel. This was a ploy, a huge deception. It's not me saying this, but a Hamas official. See the interview for yourself, Yesterday. If you want to know more about the Gaza-Israel relations, there are good sources around. And another thing: this is not collective punishment. This is war, that began with a murderous invasion of thousands of assailants into Israel.
